China set to nearly double its number of McDonalds
Over the next five years the global chain plans to nearly double its number of restaurants and expects to have 4,500 up from 2,500.
This will lead to China surpassing Japan as the chains second biggest market, with the U.S taking top spot.
There are about 37,000 McDonald’s restaurants worldwide, more than 14,000 of these are in the U.S.
McDonald’s Corporation CEO Steve Easterbrook said in a statement: “China will soon become our largest market outside of the United States.”
“Mainland China and Hong Kong are leading the global system in capturing new consumer trends such as delivery and digitalization and its driving strong performance and growth momentum.”Thursday, 10th August, 2017
